A whole lot of Nevada Bucks!

The picture above only includes 10 of the 15 Nevada mule deer taken by this group of California hunters. The widest spread was 29 1/4 inches and the rest averaged around 24 inches. In the group, pictured from left to right, are Vince Granzella, Frank Pachote, Alan Anselmo, George Gaier, Rick Granzella, Dare Delorfice, Andy Hendrickson and Bill McCarty.
We hit the weather perfect for our 2003 mule deer season. We arrived at camp in Nevada on Friday, October 31st and it snowed every day through Thursday, November 6th. The deer stuck out like sore thumbs. This might sound like I'm exaggerating but I would see 150+ deer each day, with at least 25-30 bucks. I saw all these deer driving the roads with my Jeep because I had recent surgery so I was under doctor's orders not to walk up any mountain or drag a buck. The other hunters in my group who could walk, did see a lot of deer and all of them shot big bucks. By the end of our trip I did notice that the bucks were just starting to rut. As you can see, we spotted deer from the bottom of the ranches to the tops of the mountains. The area that we hunt holds a lot of deer but the snow really helped.
