The computerized draw for the spring 2004 hunts for javelina, turkey, bear and buffalo has been completed and applicants can access the results at azgfd.com or by calling (602) 942-3000 and following the prompts. When you are calling for results or getting them through our Internet site, be sure to have your department identification number, which is a Social Security number for most people, and your date of birth, says Richard Rico, an Arizona Game and Fish Department assistant director. The number of applicants for the spring hunts this year was 51,230, compared to 46,028 applicants last year. For those who were not successful in the draw, or who did not apply, the first-come, first-served process for leftover hunt permit-tags begins at 8 a.m. MST on November 24. Call (602) 789-3702 or visit azgfd.com to find out what tags remain. Any leftover tags will only be issued through the online application process or by telephone at 1-866-462-0433. Typically, we only see leftover tags for javelina. Each year, those leftover tags get gobbled up faster and faster, says Public Information Officer Rory Aikens. Dont procrastinate. |
