Deer Permits Sold Out,
Others Still Available
Northeastern Region rifle and muzzleloader permits for this fall's Utah general buck deer hunts sold out August 23, the Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) has announced.

The Northern Region is the only region for which general rifle and muzzleloader permits are still available. Hunters may purchase Northern Region permits from the DWR's Internet Web site (www.wildlife.utah.gov) or at any DWR office.

"I'd encourage hunters to buy their permit off the Internet so they can avoid the possibility of having to stand in a long line," says Judi Tutorow, wildlife licensing coordinator for the Division of Wildlife Resources. "I'd also encourage them to buy their permit as soon as possible. Last year Northern Region permits were gone the day before the rifle hunt and hunters who waited until the last minute to try and buy one missed out on the hunt."

Statewide general archery permits are also available for Utah's general archery hunt, which ends September 13.

General archery hunters may also hunt the Wasatch Front and Uintah Basin extended archery areas. The Uintah Basin hunt ends November 3 and the Wasatch Front hunt ends December 31.

For more information, call the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office, or the Division's Salt Lake City office at (801) 538-4700.
