I took this buck on the last day of the 2000 deer season in California's D-6 deer zone.
When I came across this buck he was running with all does. His antlers were still in full velvet. The left side had 18 points and right side had 28 points. They were not really points but more like nobbies or something like that. Everybody who saw it that weekend was calling it a "Cactus Buck" and that's what it looked like, a cactus bush. Also, of all things, it didn't have testicles. My kids joined me on this last weekend of the season, making the hunt even more special. Submitted by Tony Clendenin |
