The Fish and Game Commission has kept the number of elk and deer tags available to nonresidents the same for 2002 as they are this year.
Meeting in Pocatello on October 1-2, the Commission voted to accept the recommendation of the department to keep quotas the same. Nonresidents will be able to buy 12,800 regular deer tags, and 1,200 southeast deer tags. They can have 11,000 elk tags in all zones except the Panhandle and 1,815 in the Panhandle Zone. The outfitter setaside was set at 1,900 regular deer tags, 85 southeast deer tags, 200 elk tags in the Panhandle and 2,200 in the rest of Idaho. This is also the same as last year. |
