If you have been drawn for antelope pronghorn, plan on attending one of the two antelope hunting clinics sponsored by the Arizona Antelope Foundation.
The first clinic is in Phoenix on Tuesday, August 14, at the Phoenix Mountain Preserve Reception Center on 1431 E. Dunlap Avenue, starting at 5 p.m. There is a cash bar and free munchies. There are also shirts and hats available, along with some raffle items. The second clinic is in Flagstaff starting 6 p.m. Thursday, August 16 at the Flagstaff Elks Lodge on 2101 N. San Francisco. The clinic is free for Antelope Foundation members and $10 (which can be applied toward your $25 membership fee) for all others. There will be a panel covering subjects such as antelope behavior, selection and use of optics, hunting tactics for firearms and archery, and how to judge and score trophy bucks. Arizona Game and Fish Department personnel from each region will be there to provide information and answer questions on antelope. |
