The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) Gamebird Heritage Program is again offering special pheasant hunts for families. Up to four family members may apply to hunt together. All family members must have a hunting license. All hunting license applicants must have completed a mandatory hunter safety course at least once. There is a fee. The random draw guarantees that all applications have an equal chance of being selected. Late applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, if there are still spaces open.
A 4x6" U.S. postcard should include names of up to four family members, their hunting license numbers, and the address and phone number of the primary contact person. Successful applicants will be mailed a permit, map and specific information about the hunt 10-14 days prior to the hunt date.
