It's time to apply for the spring 2000 turkey hunts for Spenceville, Daugherty Hill, and Oroville Wildlife Areas. To apply, hunters are asked to fill out a standard U.S. Postal Service postcard legibly with the following information: 1999/2000 California hunting license number of each applicant Wildlife Area the hunter wishes to hunt. Include hunt days or periods in order of preference Current address for each applicant (Remember, up to two hunters can apply on the same postcard) Hunt Days/Periods Daugherty Hill Wildlife Area: An Upland Game Bird Stamp is required to hunt turkeys. Permits are not transferrable. Wildlife Areas will be open only to hunters with permits during the first nine days of turkey season. Applications should be submitted to: Department of Fish and Game Hunters may submit only one application for each area. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2000. A public drawing for permits will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2000. Each successful applicant will also be posted at the address listed above.
