Areas
Since last spring the Bureau of Land Management and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation have acquired an additional 7,500 acres in Colusa County that will be included in the Cache Creek Management Area and will be open to turkey hunting.
• Applicants will have to choose east or west area this year. Applicants drawn for the east area can park at the parking lots at the Judge Davis trailhead just west of the Lake-Colusa County line or at Lynch Canyon in Colusa County. Applicants drawn for the west area must park at the North Fork of Cache Creek parking lot. Fifteen permits will be issued for the east area and twenty- five permits will be issued for the west area.
• No vehicles are allowed to drive on the area and vehicles must be parked in one of the parking lots.
Method of Take
Take shall be by shotgun or archery only. The hunts are open to anyone with a California hunting license.
Drawing
All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday March 2, 2000, to be included in the drawing on March 3, 2000.
Applications
Applicants may apply for one hunt date only and up to two hunters may apply on an application. Submit a standard Postal Service size postcard (one or two hunters per card), with their area choice (east or west), name & mailing address, telephone number, hunting license number(s), and one hunt date.
• Any applications received not following these guidelines will be disqualified from the drawing.
Mail to: DFG, Cache Creek Spring Turkey Hunt, P. O. Box 47, Yountville, CA 94599. Successful applicants will be issued a permit by mail. Additional information and a map of the hunt area will be included.
